Apple to develop a self-driving car
The company confirmed to be designing a self-driving car, a project under development.
According to some document presented to the Guardian, the company made more progress on the car project that previously expected. Apple has collaborated with a high-security test site near San Francisco for a test location.
Rumours say that for the self-driving car, known under the code name of “Project Titan”, great progress was made. The company worked with automotive manufacturers and recruited engineers in this field, but the only detailed confirmed was the test site communication. GoMentum Station is a former weapons testing facility with more than 20 miles of paved roads and streets for testing and a high degree of privacy and security.
It seems that Tim Cook, CEO of Apple met with executives from various car companies including Fiat-Chrysler, and it has also hired engineers from Tesla Motors, Mercedes-Benz, and electric car battery maker A123 Systems.
